Cataract & Lens Options
A cataract is a condition where the lens of the eye becomes cloudy, leading to blurry vision, difficulty seeing in low light, sensitivity to glare, and faded colors. It is commonly age-related but can also be caused by other factors. Cataract surgery is a procedure to remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an artificial lens, restoring clear vision.
We offer a full range of cataract treatment options including standard and femtosecond-laser assisted surgery. We specialize in premium lens implants such as Alcon PanOptix and Vivity to reduce dependence on glasses.

Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a serious eye condition that affects millions of Americans and is a leading cause of blindness in adults over 60. It often develops without warning signs, which is why regular comprehensive eye exams are so important in detecting and managing the condition. Glaucoma is an eye condition characterized by damage to the optic nerve, which connects the eye to the brain. It is often associated with elevated intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eye) but can also occur with normal or low pressure. It is a leading cause of irreversible vision loss worldwide. Treatment options for glaucoma include eye drops, laser procedures, and surgery, all aimed at lowering intraocular pressure and preserving vision. Regular eye exams are crucial for early detection and management of glaucoma.

Contact Lenses
We offer contact lens fitment for a variety of soft contact lenses including daily disposable, monthly/extended wear, toric/asigmatism correcting, monovision and multifocal contact lenses. Please make an appointment at our Tarrytown location for contact lens fitting.

Comprehensive Eye Exam
We provide a thorough assessment of your visual function, eye health, and potential eye conditions or diseases. Our exam may include tests for visual acuity, eye movements, eye pressure, dilation of the pupils to examine the internal structures of the eye, and specialized assessments based on individual needs or concerns. We are board-certified ophthalmologists who are qualified to diagnose and treat various eye conditions, prescribe medications, and perform eye surgeries.

Retina
The retina is a vital part of the eye, responsible for converting light into signals that can be interpreted by the brain as visual images. There are a number of conditions that can damage the retina and impact vision, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). At Castellano & McKee MD Eye Associates, our experienced ophthalmologists are skilled in diagnosing and managing retina diseases with compassion and care. If you are experiencing any changes in your vision or have been diagnosed with a retina condition, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our ophthalmologists.

Dry Eye
Dry eye is a condition characterized by inadequate lubrication and moisture in the eyes. It occurs when the eyes do not produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly. This can lead to symptoms such as dryness, irritation, redness, blurry vision, and a sensation of something in the eye. Dry eye can be caused by various factors, including age, certain medications, environmental conditions, hormonal changes, and underlying health conditions. Treatment options aim to alleviate symptoms and improve tear production and quality.

Presbyopia
Presbyopia is a common age-related vision condition that affects the ability to focus on close objects. It usually occurs around the age of 40 and progressively worsens with time. The main cause of presbyopia is the natural aging process that leads to the loss of flexibility in the lens of the eye, making it difficult to adjust focus for near vision.
We offer treatment options for presbyopia include reading glasses, bifocals or progressive lenses, multifocal contact lenses, monovision contact lenses, refractive surgery including LASIK/PRK, or clear lens exchange.

Eyelid Conditions
At Castellano & McKee Eye Associates, we perform minor eyelid procedures including stye and chalazion excisions, eyelid steroid injections, and skin tag and eyelid cyst removals. We also offer treatments for chronic blepharitis, an important precursor to chronic stye and chalazia. To discuss your options for eyelid treatment, call the office and schedule an appointment.

Pediatric Eye Exams
Diagnosis of visual disorders early in life is critical for the normal development of a child's vision.
Our physicians detect and treat visual disorders from an early age, in addition to providing routine exams and glasses prescriptions.
